House of Cards

A new television advert for UK housing and homeless charity Shelter was Developed by American advertisement company Leo Burnett.

quite a long advert its on for 60 seconds and looks like a mixture of 3-D compositing and live action. The advert features houses made of cards collapsing in on themselves while you are passing by on a train. I like this advert even tho you are sat in a moving train it has got a slow pace and I think has a haunting and sinister style it may be due to the tune alot aswell. I think it works really well the cards look very real.

Dear Anne,

My name is Simon Dye and am currently going into my 3rd year of a multi media degree and am currently working on a 3-D identity and am very interested in finding out how the UEFA Sponsorship idents for Sony Bravia where created I understand you will be very busy but I would benefit greatly from any feedback from you. I would love to know what software was used and what live action if any was used, thank you for taking time to read this

yours faithfully simon dye

Hi Simon

The idents were made using a combination of stills photography and 3d (Maya).
Cheers

Tal Rosner video...

another inspiration I got from his work was his use of still images in his videos layering them up moving them round to create the illusion of movement. I think this is using After Effects it seems like the easiest one to use

Digital images

some digital images I found doing my research for the science brief as I thought that they resemble black holes or space phenomenons but wasnt quite sure how to get them to fit in with my other ideas

Science research

An advertisement by MK12 Best Buy after seeing the vector animation I really wanted to do something similar as I wanted my animation to be quite fast paced I didnt want to much detail so it would be less to take in. I also thought it would resemble cartoons as my target audience was a young one I thought this would be appropriate.

Two stills from my own work using a similar technique. The technique I used for mine was live action on a green screen then took the footage into After Effects and using the key light then alpha matting the color I wanted over the actor which created just a single color character and I was really pleased with the outcome.

Tomorrows World

Still from my tomorrows world work using After Effects. As in the Skyfighter title sequence I tried to simulate a hud it was also very dynamic, so to create more movement I developed a
3-D enviroment for the camera two move around

Sky Fighters

Title designer Laurent Brett: The title sequence was inspired by blueprints and model kits.
Sky Fighters

Again this title sequence uses 3-D which I wont be using although the transitions from wireframe to 3-D planes into live footage were very nice but I am yet again limited to using little or basic 3-D in after effects. What really did influence me from this sequence was the ever present referencing of the heads up displays as the iron man did. Think this is a style I am fond of as the layouts look really nice sometimes.

Title sequence that I was really inspired by when I was doing my Tomorrows World title sequence. The futuristic style with mechanical parts numbers and hubs really give you a technical feel. Which was the feel I wanted for tomorrows world as the show is all about future inventions. The software they used was a 3-D one whereas I had limited skills and never touched 3-D but liked the style of the sequence.
